Disguised Victorian House restoration

Disguised Victorian House

This Victorian timber house in Brighton had been enclosed in brick veneer, the veranda and all plasterwork and period joinery and fittings having been removed.

Authentic Age was asked to advise on options to reinstate its Victorian character, source appropriate antique furniture items and advise on stencilling dados and friezes.

We located a Victorian mahogany sideboard, hallstand and desk for purchase; provided a report containing options for rendering the brickwork and replacing missing structural and decorative items; and provided frieze and dado designs and typical Victorian colour schemes.

This enabled the owner to plan the renovation, make her own stencils and saved her the time in researching and finding appropriate antique furniture.
